Six Categories of Photos

Here's one possible selection of photos from the 72 photos taken across six different categories: up, down, kneeling, intentionally out of focus, people jumping, and self-portraits. This selection has an end of summer feel to it, not only in the subject matter but also the greens and blues that they show.

I'm using a Canon PowerShot camera. This exercise got me to explore some of the other options besides Auto and Macro. It seems that I can take advantage of the apertures set for things like Portrait and Kids and Pets, and I can change the ISO, but in the manual mode, I don't think that I can control the f-stops.

For the jumping series, I went to a skate park. Ben, an adult skate boarder, let me photograph him as he did some of his runs along with his younger cousin who was using a scooter. I included two here because I liked the way one froze a jump and the other showed the action of a jump.
