My friend, Amy, helped me with this series of photos. I took them between 5:50 pm and 6:00 pm.
I like the photos taken with the reflector either because they illuminate the majority of the person's face while still still providing some contrast (especially in the North and South facing shots) and/or because they soften the person's face.
The photos taken facing the sun at this time of day, which was in the West, have a more vivid color and sharper detail. Using the reflector didn't change the illumination very much but I think it diffused the direct light a little.
I even like the image taken facing East with the reflector because it exaggerates my friend's hair.
